We have had many trips and we always have a great time and are well looked after by the crew!
What a great day!! Thank you to the 3 members of staff we had today… Even under pressure they made our day! Would recommend to all x
Had a great time today. With my friend Marlene and her friends cruising up to Roydon Mill. Enjoyed steering the boat (mentored) and helped with the lock gates.
The staff are very friendly and all three that looked after the boat, Stort Daybreak, do a fine job
A huge thank you to the 6 volunteers
Great crew! Lovely day….would recommend!
Just had another fabulous day on the water with Ian, Paul and Paula – thank you for giving our family a lovely day out!
Thank you so much for having us today. We had lots of fun whilst helping a very worthy cause. X
I was made very welcome by all the staff & volunteers I met today, looking forward to my next visit.
Hi just to say we spent a fabulous Father’s Day with these guys the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, the facilities are great. These guys are doing a grand job and I recommend this to anyone who through a disability wouldn’t normally be able to have a trip on the canal. Splendid work people we are much appreciative and we will be back!
May I offer my heartfelt thanks for a super day today on the Stort Challenger. My mother Moya Page was delighted to be able to enjoy a trip on the river for her 92nd birthday; something she thought she would never do again. When younger she loved a quiet row on the upper Thames and although this wasn’t quite the same it was an enormous pleasure for her to watch the river and the banks slipping past, and a real thrill to be encouraged to steer and then later to be seated up on the lift for a perfect view. And then a warm room from which to shelter from the rain – perfect! The rest of us had a great time too; I must say it has whetted my appetite for inland waterways.
Your three volunteers were outstanding; professional, safe and competent but also friendly, enabling and good company. I hope they enjoyed the day as well.
It turned out to be an extra-special occasion as a nephew/ great-nephew who has been abroad for a couple of years made a surprise appearance and shared the day with us. so I think it is fair to say it was a day we will all remember with enormous pleasure.
My mother feels she is unlikely to be in a fit state to do this again another year and my comment on the feedback form reflected that, but I will certainly recommend this strongly to others with disabled family members. It was a joy for all of us to see her looking so animated and excited, steering the boat.
We had a wonderful trip a while ago when we decided to renew our wedding vows for our Ruby wedding African Queen style. This little video is my husband, now sadly passed, with our grandchildren. Max shown here has a serious heart problem so trips like this are so special to him. A perfect day with a lovely crew.
If you have mobility difficulties, or are a wheelchair user, you'll love our boats!
Each boat has a ramps & lifts to enable access via wheelchair and for people with impaired mobility, and other adaptive technology to allow everyone to take an active part in its operation.
Unlike the majority of canal boats, our boats also have disabled toilet facilities and our holiday boats have full wet rooms rather than just a shower tray or a bath.
See the individual boats for details of their accessibility features.
